“I was reminded that God is glorified when His disciples bear fruit. George is a blessed gift to the church. His teaching is what is needed if we are to see true revival.” Conference attendee April 2009, Riverside, CA |

Proverbs 2:1 The Moral benefits of Wisdom My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, 2 listening closely to wisdom and directing your heart to understanding; 3 furthermore, if you call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding, 4 if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He stores up success for the upright; He is a shield for those who live with integrity 10 For wisdom will enter your mind, and knowledge will delight your heart. 11 Discretion will watch over you, and understanding will guard you
The writer of this Proverb over and over again appeals to us to live a life of wisdom. Using words like accept, store up, listening closely, directing your heart, and call out.
To find treasure we must hunt, dig, search, excavate. To find wisdom requires the same kind of activity. So never give up on your search for wisdom. True wisdom knows that you never find it all. You can always gain more wisdom.
I believe wisdom is the application of knowledge. So go after knowledge and learn how to apply what you have learned in your life setting.
Verse 5 of this proverb says that when we search for wisdom, true wisdom, we find God himself and our relationship with Him. You see God is the source of all wisdom.
It is God who gives wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
Wisdom is protection. Protects us from falling, from making wrong turns in life, and from doing things we will later regret.
There is another Proverb in this book that says if we are seeking wisdom, God will guide us. Actually it states that God will be removing obstacles from in front of us.
That is the ultimate wisdom.
You are doing a great job and I look forward to growing with you in wisdom as we seek to do what is pleasing in God’s eyes.
Use the wisdom God has given you and what you will learn from those you work with and other people God will put in your path. Use this wisdom to not only touch lives with God’s love but to change lives for Him. |
