In this class structure the work and ministry of the class is balanced throughout the leadership and members of the class. No one person carries the full load. Other areas of responsibility can be added as needed. Smaller classes begin with what you have. The Inreach, Outreach, and Secretary positions could be carried by one person in a small class. Thus you could begin with a teacher/facilitator, an Inreach/Outreach person, and one Care Group Leader. You would add positions and build on this structure base as you grow.

I am a firm believer that everyone in an adult class should have an area of responsibility. Therefore, this flow chart could be expanded greatly. Here are some other areas of responsibility that can be applied to adult classes.

· Greeter (can have multiple greeters)

· Room set-up—ensures the rooms is ready for Bible study class

· Refreshment coordinator (who is bringing the doughnuts next week)

· Research assistants—helps the teacher find articles, clips, etc.

· Interdepartmental communication specialist—relays needs of other areas of Sunday School to class

· Inter-ministry communication specialist—relays needs of other ministries of church to the class

· Fellowship activity assistants– assists in coordinatingupcoming activities and fellowships
